“Roundy” Mini Lanterns & Kitty Cat Cable Car – Limited Distribution Starts Feb. 11

Even “Roundy” is celebrating the Lantern Festival！The “Taipei Roundy” mini lantern, designed by the Taipei City Government, will be distributed daily from 9:00 AM on February 11 to 14 at the Maokong Gondola Zoo Station. Each visitor who purchases a gondola ticket can take a Roundy lantern home, enjoying the unique experience of carrying “Roundy,” riding the Hello Kitty cable car, and admiring cherry blossoms in Maokong.

Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation stated that the “Taipei Roundy” mini lantern features a panda with rosy cheeks and an adorable smile, and even more charmingly, Roundy is riding a YouBike. Starting at 9:00 AM on the 11th, each visitor who purchases a gondola ticket at the Maokong Cable Zoo Station will receive one mini lantern, with a daily limit of 5,000 lanterns.

The transit company noted that visitors can purchase the “Maokong Gondola Round-Trip Value Ticket.” Since its launch, this ticket not only allows unlimited-distance round-trip rides on the Maokong Gondola once, but also includes one additional free ride, all for just NT$120. Visitors can enjoy local mountain delicacies and premium tea in the Maokong area, take in the beautiful cherry blossom scenery, and even get off midway to visit and pray at Zhinan Temple. They can also pick up a “Roundy Admission Reservation Coupon” at the Zoo Station to see Roundy in person at the zoo.

The transit company also reminds visitors that within three days after riding, they can apply for a refund of the NT$20 deposit, meaning that riding the Maokong Gondola three times costs only NT$100.
