Shaoguan Dinosaur Museum

The Dinosaur Museum is located at the foot of the Sanying Pagoda in Nanxiong County. Through physical exhibits, photographs, and textual materials, it showcases the excavation of paleontological fossils in Nanxiong, recreating the dinosaur world of the Cretaceous period 70 million years ago.

Many dinosaur egg fossils and dinosaur fossils are buried in the Nanxiong Red Beds, and the museum displays exhibits such as Tyrannosaurus rex, Nanshiungosaurus brevispinus, Nanshiungosaurus Microraptor, and clusters of dinosaur egg fossils. The discovery of the paleontological fossil animal group in the Nanxiong Red Beds indicates that China has numerous fossil layers with extremely rich varieties. It ended the long-term research gap in the Paleocene stage of China's Cenozoic strata and made China the country with the most complete Paleocene stratigraphic profile in the world today. Transportation: There are direct buses from Shaoguan to Nanxiong, and the museum is located in the northern part of the county, adjacent to the Sanying Pagoda.
