There’s a new way to enjoy the Love River now. The Kaohsiung City Tourism Bureau, in collaboration with National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology, has launched the “Paddle the Love River” water recreation experience event every weekend starting from the 14th. For the first time, internationally popular kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) have been introduced to the Love River, allowing visitors to paddle their own boats and “ride the waves” on the river!

Hsu Chuan-sheng, Director of the Kaohsiung City Tourism Bureau, said that the “Paddle the Love River” activity spans from Qixian Bridge to the Heart of the Love River. Visitors can use trendy watercraft such as kayaks and stand-up paddleboards to navigate through the Love River while enjoying the ongoing Kaohsiung Lantern Festival Art Show, offering a unique perspective on the river’s daytime and nighttime scenery.

The “2015 Paddle the Love River” event is divided into three themed weekends: “Ladies & Gentlemen Meetup Week” (March 14–15), “Happy Bathing in Love River Week” (March 21–22), and “Family Fun Week” (March 28–29). Starting at 9:30 AM, there are six sessions per day, each accommodating 30 people. Each session includes approximately one hour of instruction and Love River exploration, with an experience fee of NT$300 per person.
