After being referred, the fire bureau guided them to download the Kaohsiung 119 emergency reporting APP for location tracking.
Rescue personnel said that after using GPS to locate the hiker, they proceeded on foot to conduct the search. Since there were no accessible paths near the stranded individual’s location, rescuers had to clear the way manually and advance slowly. Throughout the process, they called out to confirm the hiker’s health condition. Eventually, the hiker was successfully found at the exact location indicated by the Kaohsiung 119 APP.
The Kaohsiung City Fire Bureau urges the public to download the Kaohsiung 119 APP in advance. In case of emergencies, it can be used immediately. If the mobile phone has no internet access, the SMS emergency reporting function can also be used to call for help. 1060116
