Quickly gather your whole family, follow the spirit of the ancients who rose at the crow of the “chicken” to practice martial arts, head out for a spring walk to stretch your muscles, and in the new year, climb high to enjoy the distant view and seize the day ahead—like the early “chicken”!
◎ Wenhu Line – Zhongyongshan & Liyushan Hiking Trail
Transportation Info: Take the metro to Dahu Park Station, Exit 1. After exiting, follow the signs and enter the hiking trail through Dahuhu Villa.
Trail Introduction: Walking along the trail offers a bird’s-eye view of Taipei’s cityscape, with breathtaking views and scenery. The trail ends at Jinlong Zen Temple on Section 3 of Neihu Road, where the Eighteen Arhats by the roadside bid you farewell, marking the end of this hiking experience.
◎ Wenhu Line – Dahu Park
Transportation Info: Dahu Park Station, Exit 2
Scenic Introduction: Right next to Dahu Park Station is Dahu Park, the most famous park in the Neihu area. Here, you must not miss the renowned Jindai Bridge and the Zigzag Bridge. The vast greenery throughout the park and the beautiful scenery by the mountains and water make it a perfect spot for family outings.
◎ Tamsui-Xinyi Line – Guandu Hiking Trail
Transportation Info: Take the metro to Guandu Station. Exit from Exit 2, turn right, and walk about 10 to 15 minutes following the signs to reach the trailhead of Guandu Hiking Trail at Lane 30, Section 4, Zhongyang North Road.
Trail Introduction: As the slope of the Guandu Skyline Trail gradually rises, endless green plains slowly come into view, along with the mountain and river scenery of Guanyin Mountain and the Tamsui River. It is said that the beautiful scenery where blue sky, green mountains, and green land meet varies at different altitudes—come and see for yourself.
◎ Banan Line – Hushan Hiking Trail
Transportation Info: Take the Banan Line to Houshanpi Station. Walk along Zhongpo South Road toward Fude Street for about 20 minutes to reach the trailhead at Cihui Hall in Lane 251, Fude Street.
Trail Introduction: The Hushan Hiking Trail features quite interesting scenery along the way with a rich variety of plant species, and interpretive signs are set up along the path. The front section is traversed by Hushan Creek, and the mountain stream environment fosters a rich and diverse natural landscape, making it also a favorite habitat for ferns.
◎ Tamsui-Xinyi Line – Xiangshan Hiking Trail
Transportation Info: Take the metro to Xiangshan Station. Exit from Exit 2 and walk about 10 to 15 minutes toward Zhongqiang Park to reach the trailhead.
Trail Introduction: Xiangshan is named for its resemblance to the head of an elephant. From here, you can overlook the full view of Taipei 101. Xiangshan and Hushan share the same geological composition, mainly consisting of sandstone. The trail features yellowish-brown steep cliffs and huge rocks, with diverse natural landscapes along the way, making it very suitable for a family outing with children.
◎ Songshan-Xindian Line – Xianjiyan Hiking Trail
Transportation Info: Take the metro to Jingmei Station. Exit from Exit 1 and walk toward Jingxing Road to reach the entrance archway.
Trail Introduction: Legend has it that Lü Dongbin, one of the Eight Immortals, once left his footprints here, attracting many visitors eager to witness this divine trace. Entering the Xianjiyan Trail, you first need to climb the 78-step Longevity Staircase, followed by the 100-step Immortal Ascent Slope. After that, the trail becomes more gentle, and there are rest pavilions along the way to enjoy the scenery, making it a perfect blend of exercise and leisure.
◎ Banan Line – Tianshangshan Hiking Trail
Transportation Info: From Exit 2 of Yongning Station on the Banan Line, take bus Blue 44 Extension or F607 Yongning Line and get off at the Trailhead Station.
Trail Introduction: Located in Tucheng District, New Taipei City, Tianshangshan, originally called Neipo Mountain, is the highest peak of the Tucheng Mountain Range. There are multiple routes to reach the Tianshangshan Trail, but the most well-known among visitors is the Guangqin Elder Memorial Trail, which passes through Chengtian Zen Temple, Tunghua Park, Wangyue Pavilion, the Viewing Platform, and finally reaches the Tianshangshan Summit Viewing Platform. Hike here to pray for blessings and wish for peace and good fortune in the coming year.
