Located in the Birdsong District, Clearwater Lake covers an area of 103 hectares, making it the largest lake in Kaohsiung. The 375-hectare scenic area combines water resources, scenic beauty, recreation, and ecological conservation, earning it the reputation of “Taiwan’s West Lake.”

Covering approximately 3 hectares, Birdsong Wetlands is Taiwan’s first educational park themed around artificial wetlands. It boasts rich ecological resources, including a diverse range of birds, insects, and plants. Adjacent to the vast Clearwater Lake, it serves as an excellent outdoor ecological education site. On weekends, guided eco-tours are often available. Walking along the wooden boardwalk, you can observe mallards, purple swamphens, and little egrets gliding through the wetland waters.

Situated by the scenic Clearwater Lake, the Clearwater Lake Baseball Stadium is a major venue for professional baseball games in southern Taiwan. The stadium meets international standards in both field and facilities. On regular days, it’s also a popular spot for nearby residents to exercise and relax.

Ziyun Temple is located by Clearwater Lake in Kaohsiung’s Birdsong District. With beautiful surroundings and a serene temple atmosphere that brings peace to the heart, it was first established in 1960 when founding abbess Venerable Yian purchased the land. A disciple of the renowned Tiantai Buddhist master Venerable Binzong, she later named the temple Nantiantai Ziyun Temple.
