Xinlong Pagoda

Xinlong Pagoda is a cultural relic protection unit of Guangdong Province.

Xinlong Pagoda is located in Longkou Village, Pingtian Town, Nanxiong City. Built during the Song Dynasty, it has a hexagonal floor plan and is a five-story hollow brick pagoda of the pavilion style, with its finial now destroyed. The remaining height of the pagoda is 18 meters, with a base circumference of 19.2 meters and a bottom diameter of 5.6 meters. It was constructed using blue bricks measuring 34 cm in length, 15 cm in width, and 5 cm in thickness. The brick joints are irregularly staggered and bonded with yellow mud mortar. The body of the pagoda features brick-built architraves, corner pillars, and bracket sets. Each level has overhanging eaves formed by corbeling with dentil bricks and cornice bricks, along with false balconies. Each of the six sides on every level has a lancet-shaped door. Originally, a wooden staircase was built inside the pagoda, but it no longer exists. Traces of lime plaster can be found on the exterior walls, and the pagoda has undergone renovations in various historical periods.

In May 1982, it was listed as a cultural relic protection unit of Nanxiong County. On December 10, 2015, Xinlong Pagoda was approved and announced by the People's Government of Guangdong Province as part of the eighth batch of Guangdong Provincial Cultural Relic Protection Units.
