Whale Cave

Whale Cave is located on Xiaomen Island at the northern tip of Siyu in the Penghu Archipelago. The island is covered with oddly shaped basalt rocks, and among the black stones lies a large sea-eroded cave. Legend has it that a giant whale once got trapped here, hence the name. The cave is about 7.8 meters high, with a cold and eerie interior that feels like a primordial land. Outside the cave, huge waves crash against the shore, creating a spectacular scene. At low tide, listening to the sound of the waves here is an incredibly striking experience.
