Summer in Penghu gets more beautiful as the night falls. Just after the annual Penghu Fireworks Festival wrapped up in June, the National Scenic Area Administration has once again launched the “Penghu Light Sculpture Fireworks Show,” starting on Qixi Festival (Chinese Valentine’s Day), August 20, and continuing to light up the Penghu night sky!

Since its inception in 2003, the Penghu Maritime Fireworks Festival has gained considerable popularity both domestically and internationally over the years. In 2015, the Penghu Fireworks Festival adopted the theme “Happy Chrysanthemum Island, Shining the World,” inviting internationally renowned fireworks teams to offer visitors the most spectacular visual feast. Riding on the fireworks craze, the Penghu National Scenic Area Administration presents the exciting “Penghu Light Sculpture Fireworks Show” on Qixi Valentine’s Day, to be held on August 20 (Qixi Valentine’s Day), August 23, August 29, September 5, September 13, September 19, September 26, and October 3 at Guanyin Pavilion Recreation Area, for a total of 8 shows. Each night at 8 PM features a 3D projection light sculpture show, followed by a fireworks display at 9 PM.

In addition to the light sculpture fireworks show, the “2015 Penghu Bay Beach Fun Run” was also held on September 12 at Penghu’s Aimen Beach, offering options of 6 km and 12 km distances. Online registration is open from now until August 2, and an evening Summer Starlight Music Concert will also take place that day, featuring performances by bands such as MP Magic Power, inviting everyone to enjoy Penghu together.
