Sandao Canal is an ancient town in western Sichuan with a history of over a thousand years. Historically, it was a well-known hub for both land and water transportation and commerce. Nourishing the city of Chengdu, Sandao Canal is the source of inspiration. On April 29, 2014, the Sandao Canal Water Town was approved as a national 4A-level tourist attraction and has been dubbed the most beautiful water town in western China. The national secondary highway Pi-Peng Road and the Chengdu-Pengzhou High-Speed Railway run north-south through the area, while the Shaxi Line crosses the entire town.

Located in the suburbs of Chengdu, in the heart of the Chengdu Plain, Sandao Canal is just 22 kilometers from Chengdu and 6 kilometers from Pixian County. This ancient town in western Sichuan boasts a history of over a thousand years and is known as the "Water Town of the Land of Abundance." The Xuyan River and the Baitiao River flow through the town, where traditional Sichuan-style houses with white walls and black tiles are built along the water, showcasing the diverse and elegant architectural styles of classic western Sichuan dwellings. Structures such as the stilted buildings, Yuejiang Tower, Wangjiang Tower, Yongding Bridge, Yan Bridge, the grand archway of the Sandao Canal Ancient Town, and the kilometer-long Water Town Cultural Corridor... all delicately crafted attractions exhibit the unique charm of the western Sichuan water town.

The ancient town makes full use of its exceptional water resources to create a riverside living environment surrounded by flowers and willows, forming an ecological style characterized by "Sichuan-style architecture with water town features." Themed around "water affinity," pavilions such as the Poetry-Reciting Tower, Tea-Tasting Tower, Calligraphy and Painting Tower, Chess and Card Tower, Food Culture Tower, and Sightseeing Tower stand in close succession along both banks of the Baitiao River. The town features staggered black-tiled roofs, orderly firewalls, stone river railings protecting the waterways, winding cobblestone paths, and a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity, nature and urban life, showcasing the rich diversity of typical western Sichuan residential architecture. The ancient town's black tiles, white walls, small bridges, flowing water, egrets, and weeping willows, along with birdsong and floral scents, present a serene and peaceful landscape painting. Visitors can pick vegetables in the eco-agricultural park, immersing themselves in the deep charm of the surroundings, making it a delightful and memorable destination.
