Sichuan-Western Forest Parks are a composite living model integrating production, daily life, and landscape. They are vivid carriers of Tianfu culture, the farming civilization of the Chengdu Plain, and the architectural style of Western Sichuan residences. These areas boast rich aesthetic, cultural, and ecological values. They are not only treasures of Western Sichuan’s farming culture but also crystallizations of traditional agrarian-era civilization, playing an important role in maintaining the ecological environment of the Chengdu Plain.
With the launch of the first batch of Forest Park Scenic Areas in Chengdu, the uniquely featured parks have received enthusiastic acclaim from the public. To earnestly implement the requirements of the city’s “Ten Key Projects” and “Five Key Reforms” for promoting rural revitalization and integrated urban-rural development, as well as the Western Sichuan Forest Park Conservation and Restoration Plan, and to adhere to the concept of “scenic, park-like, accessible, and participatory,” the Chengdu Tourism Standards Evaluation Committee has organized the selection of the second batch of Grade A Forest Park Scenic Areas since September this year. Recently, the committee proposed to designate 17 entities including Chalan Forest Park Scenic Area as Grade AAA Forest Park Scenic Areas, and 9 entities including Fenshui Forest Park Scenic Area as Grade AA Forest Park Scenic Areas. The list is currently under public notice, with the announcement period running from December 5 to December 11.
