“Travel through Movies!” Zhongjia Group Pioneers a New “Entertainment & Cultural Tourism” Model, Launching Four Film & TV Projects

On the morning of November 26, 2019, Zhongjia Group, along with its subsidiaries and film production crews, held a press conference at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Chengdu, Sichuan. The event announced the group’s development strategy and four upcoming film and television projects.

Zhongjia Group’s Information Strategy Officially Launched—The Group Will Build a Diversified Service Platform Covering Entertainment, Cultural Tourism, Technology, and Public Welfare.

According to Chief Director Yin Yue, the press conference unveiled three large-scale feature films and one TV series produced by the group.

The movie Panda Love Corridor is a joint project between Zhongjia Group and the Chongzhou Municipal Party Committee and Government. It promotes the in-the-wild conservation of China’s national treasure, the panda, as well as the cultural history and natural scenery of western Sichuan. The project pioneers global panda culture filmmaking in the new internet era and includes the development of related film merchandise. This project has entered the shooting phase and is scheduled for completion and release in 2020.

The Silk Road-flavored film Red Skirt, Winter Sunshine, directed by Yin Yue, plans to invite renowned director Chen Kaige as chief advisor and Andy Lau as executive producer to co-create an epic blockbuster that serves as a bridgehead for the Belt and Road Initiative. By integrating the “entertainment + cultural tourism” model, the project will develop a brand of “Silk Road Stations” tourism complexes along the Belt and Road, presenting a panoramic view of cultural confidence in the new era.

The film Love Stirred by the Battle Flag is based on the real entrepreneurial story of Zhanqi Village in Pidu District, which President Xi Jinping has visited. It promotes the touching story of how, under the leadership of the Party, the people have created a better life and built a new socialist countryside on the road to rural revitalization. The screenwriter has already immersed themselves in the area to gather materials and experience local life. The film is expected to be released on the third anniversary of President Xi’s visit to the village.

The large-scale TV series Revolutionary Ideals Are Higher Than Heaven has received strong support from the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and Government, as well as specific guidance from the Provincial Party Propaganda Department and the Provincial Party History Office. The series depicts the life of Comrade Luo Shiwen, Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee during a special era, Acting Secretary of the Sichuan Provisional Working Committee, Secretary of the Sichuan-Kangding Special Committee, Head of the 18th Army Group’s Chengdu Office, and Director of the Xinhua Daily’s Chengdu Branch. It follows his growth, involvement in the revolution, perseverance in struggle, and heroic martyrdom. The script is expected to be delivered to the Central Propaganda Department’s Major Projects Office after next year’s Spring Festival for production to begin, with anticipated broadcast during prime time on CCTV-1 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party.

At the same time, Zhongjia Group will launch an information-based public welfare platform—“Datian Circle.” Relying on technologies such as big data, blockchain, artificial intelligence, and smart agriculture, the platform will establish a customized community e-commerce marketplace, support the operations of original local farmers, provide urban residents with green, healthy, and affordable agricultural products, and develop localized cultural and creative IPs that integrate local culture, supporting urban residents’ participation in public welfare.

Ms. Pang Xiaoqin, Chairwoman of Zhongjia Group, introduced: The group positions itself as a supplier of cultural tourism blockbusters. Abandoning the traditional single-point, single-sector project development model, the group pioneers the “entertainment & cultural tourism” model. It maximizes the value of every inch of land, minimizes asset loss during development, preserves humanistic heritage, and fulfills corporate social responsibility. In future development, the group will also offer a full-process “one-stop” value-added service path, covering film production, cultural (agricultural) tourism project development, investment attraction and operation management, and brand output. Additionally, the group is establishing an open and win-win platform-based business environment to attract talent from all fields, welcoming strategic collaborations with independent artists, startup teams, and consulting firms. Internally, the group will use a partnership mechanism to build a platform-based structure that attracts and retains more outstanding talent to achieve great things together.

Attendees of this press conference included leaders from Sichuan Province, Chengdu City, Turpan City, Chongzhou City, Pidu District, and Weiyuan County, as well as numerous guests from partner organizations, experts, scholars, professionals from the film and television industry, and representatives from major news media and journalists.
