Golden Qingping Scenic Area

Golden Qingping Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Golden Qingping Scenic Area is located in the northwestern mountainous region of Mianzhu City, covering an area of approximately 5.35 square kilometers. It borders the Longmen Mountain National Geological Park, Jiuding Mountain National Nature Reserve, and the Giant Panda National Park. The area enjoys an average annual temperature of 15°C, abundant rainfall, stunning mountain and water landscapes, and a comfortable climate. It is a cultural fusion of Qiang and Han traditions, rich in local customs, with both natural ecology and historical heritage. It is known as the “Golden Qingping, Fairy Tale Town, Paradise on Earth, and Summer Resort.” The scenic area offers a variety of leisure and entertainment experiences, including Firefly Valley, sightseeing train rides, the Coffee Cluster, lakeside promenade, debris flow site park, Qiang-Han style homestays, lush meadows, cold-water fish viewing, colorful flower valley, water park, paintball, observation decks, and performances of Qiang and Han folk songs.

The Pastoral Coffee Cluster is located in Group 5 of Yanjing Village and represents an economic strategy of Qingping Town transitioning from phosphate rock mining to rural tourism development. The site spans a street approximately 200 meters long, involving over 20 farming households. With the support of the Qingping Town Party Committee and government, and the guidance and participation of the town’s tourism company, the project was developed through partial planning and design, renovating and expanding existing farmer residences. All participating households now have the capacity to receive tourists. Thanks to this initiative, several other farming households in town have applied to the village and tourism company to convert their existing homes into distinctive homestays.

The sightseeing train consists of three carriages, each accommodating 40 passengers. Its exterior resembles the steam age, while the interior features wood-like décor, central air conditioning, and onboard video screens, all contributing to a warm and cozy atmosphere. The train runs from Qingping Town to Yanjing Village, covering a total distance of 2.7 kilometers at a speed of 7 kilometers per hour, with a ride duration of about half an hour. In line with Golden Qingping’s positioning as a fairy tale town, riding this sightseeing train offers a uniquely delightful way to enjoy the mountain scenery.

Firefly Valley is located around Guanguge in Yuankeng Village, Qingping Town, also known as Tianjinggou, covering an area of 1.5 square kilometers. The valley boasts superior natural conditions ideal for fireflies, and from July to September each year, their glowing lights illuminate the night sky, creating a magical natural spectacle. The valley also provides fresh, humid, and cool air, attracting many visitors for summer escapes and sightseeing. Since its opening to the public on July 30, 2016, it has become extremely popular, drawing thousands of visitors from outside the mountains each evening for summer relaxation, further boosting nighttime tourism in Qingping Town's mountain villages.

The Lakeside Promenade is situated in Group 3 of Qipan Village, Qingping Town, covering a planned area of 80 acres. Before tourism development, the site housed a water plant aided by Jiangyin City. In 2017, amid economic restructuring due to mining rights regulation, the government promoted tourism development to revitalize existing resources, leading to the creation of the Lakeside Promenade project. It makes full use of Qingping’s naturally high-quality water resources, allowing visitors to safely engage in water-related activities.

The Lush Meadow is located in Group 5 of Yanjing Village, Qingping Town. In 2016, to boost tourism, the area was developed into a colorful Flower Sea & Sesame Flower Garden and a water park for visitors to enjoy. To beautify the living environment and promote rural tourism, Yuankeng Village planted trees and flowers, built bridges and roads on this sandy land. Every May and June, vast fields of cosmos burst into brilliant bloom. Walking along the stone-paved paths through the floral sea, with mountain breezes gently swaying the flowers and people, provides a delightful experience. When tired, visitors can rest on quaint rocks or take shade under the trees—it’s truly a wonderful spot to enjoy flowers and relax.
