The 2019 Scenic China Cycling League Sichuan? Mianzhu Station "Jiannanchun Cup" Concludes Successfully

       On June 29, the second day of the 2019 Scenic China Cycling League Sichuan? Mianzhu Station "Jiannanchun Cup" Competition – along with the 6th Round of the Longmen Mountain Cycling Tour – organized by the China Scenic Area Association, Sichuan Provincial Sports Bureau, and Deyang Municipal People’s Government, and hosted by Deyang Municipal Sports Bureau, Deyang Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism, Mianzhu Municipal People’s Government, with Jiannanchun (Group) Co., Ltd. as the title sponsor and Shizhi Sports as the exclusive operator, featured the Men’s Open Group 64.9km Road Race. Nearly 200 athletes from 27 teams across the country participated in the event.

       In summer, Mianzhu boasts lush mountains and clear waters. The riders set off from the landscape boulevard in front of the Mianzhu Sports Center Plaza, cycling laps around the city with each lap being 5.9km. This type of course is particularly suitable for sprinters on flat terrain. After an intense first day, the showdown between the China Pardus Taishan Rypress Team led by Kong Wensheng and the Southwest United Team’s Xu Xinling and Huo Haibing, along with the Sichuan Highland Union, became the main highlight. The Taishan Rypress Team, fielding four riders, delivered outstanding performances over the two days, clinching multiple awards including Team Overall Champion, Individual Overall Champion, and Sprint Overall Champion. Additionally, following yesterday's upset win by Sichuan Highland Union’s Feng Haoran in the first stage, local rider Xu Xinling once again claimed victory in the second stage, while also securing the Southwest United Team’s goal of finishing second in the team standings. Kong Wensheng and teammate Hou Dongyi secured second and third places in the second stage, while Feng Haoran, riding on the strength of his first-stage performance, took second place in the individual overall standings. Li Qiu from the home team Southwest United Team finished third in the individual overall standings. Over the two competitive days, the local riders delivered many thrilling surprises.

       Aside from the exciting competitive events, June 29’s activities also featured a variety of interactive experiences for the public, allowing citizens to not only witness the “speed and passion” of a major cycling competition up close but also to actively participate in the fun, enjoying a unique weekend. Interactive experiences included a "Hot Air Balloon Upright Display," "Children’s Balance Bikes," "Paper Plane Experiences," and "Hot Air Balloon Model Making," attracting many parents and children. The adorable octopus-shaped hot air balloon, imaginative drawings, and children racing around the field turned the sports center into a sea of joy.

       It is understood that the Scenic China Cycling League is jointly organized by the China Scenic Area Association and relevant partners, and operated by Shizhi Sports. It integrates professional competitions with mass cycling activities, aiming to actively promote sports fitness tourism, advocate low-carbon travel and eco-friendly sightseeing, encourage public participation in cycling, and organically combine national fitness activities with the protection of scenic resources and urban tourism development. The league also recommends “China’s Most Suitable Cycling Routes” to cycling enthusiasts nationwide, providing a platform for bicycle tourism and fitness activities.

       The 2019 Scenic China Cycling League Sichuan? Mianzhu Station "Jiannanchun Cup" Competition – along with the 6th Round of the Longmen Mountain Cycling Tour – received strong support from China Life, Golden Ant Fine Used Cars, Shunjie Auto Industry, and Century Genesis Classic Auto Industry. This event aimed to promote the concept of “One City, One Charm, One Cycling Mark; One Race, One Scenery, One Culture.” Using the cycling race as a focal point and harmony between humans and nature as the main theme, the goal is to achieve coordinated development between sports and tourism. Leveraging Mianzhu’s cultural and tourism resources, the event actively boosts the integrated development of culture, sports, and tourism in Mianzhu, enriches the cultural and sports life of its residents, and promotes the city’s economic and social development.

       In recent years, Mianzhu has been fully committed to building itself into a “Famous Cultural and Tourism City,” establishing itself as a western health and wellness base, a key tourist hub along the Great Jiuzhaigou Loop, a distinctive leisure and holiday destination on the Chengdu Plain, and a “Four-Tier Tourism Brand” for national all-for-one tourism demonstration zones.
