Over 100 Artists Join Forces at Zhubei Spring Ode Art Exchange Exhibition

The Zhubei City Cultural Affairs Bureau launched the “2018 Spring Ode – Taiwan Art Exchange Exhibition” starting on the 10th, featuring more than 100 artists from across Taiwan jointly exhibiting over 100 works. These include oil paintings, watercolors, pastels, mixed media, prints, ink wash paintings, calligraphy, gouache, ceramics, sculptures, leather carvings, metalwork, as well as tape art creations. The exhibition runs until the 21st.

Mayor Lin Chih-chien noted that the “Spring Ode – Art Exchange Exhibition,” initiated by the Zhubei City Art Association, was first organized in 2012 by then-chairman Lin Shou-chang, who invited artists from various regions to participate in a joint exhibition. Since then, the event has been hosted year by year by Hsinchu County, Miaoli County, Hualien County, Taoyuan County, and Yilan County.

This year marks the event’s return to Zhubei City after six years, with 17 art groups and 112 artists coming together to showcase 120 pieces. Participating masters include veteran artist Lee Tze-fan, as well as luminaries such as Lü Yanqing, Liu Yangzhe, Kuo Cheng-chiao, Chen Hsien-chang, Fan Suliuan, Lin Shou-chang, Tsai Ching-lun, and Tsai Yang-chi. The diverse and refreshing artworks offer a delightful visual experience.

The Cultural Affairs Bureau pointed out that the Zhubei City Art Association is a critically important cultural organization, established 46 years ago by renowned local artist Professor Lee Tze-fan. Over the years, it has had eight chairpersons, all of whom have demonstrated great dedication and commitment to promoting art and aesthetics. Their efforts have significantly enriched the city’s artistic atmosphere. The return of this joint exhibition to Zhubei City holds even greater significance for urban aesthetic exchange and cultural development.

The Zhubei City Art Association stated that Spring Ode is a continuation of Spring Ode Appreciation, not only maintaining cherished connections but also adding rich new elements to compose a moving chapter of aesthetic artistry. The opening ceremony on the 14th will feature not only participating artists but also a tea appreciation session, guzheng music performance, and live sketching, allowing the public to easily engage with art, get closer to it, and feel its inspiration.
