Discover the brilliance of beauty: The 2010 Hsinchu City International Glass Art Festival

Hsinchu City is the birthplace of Taiwan's glass industry. In 1999, it established Taiwan’s first glass museum and holds the “International Glass Art Festival” every two years to showcase various craft works, integrating aspects of technology, fashion, innovation, and environmental sustainability. This year’s festival runs until September 19, featuring wonderful content suitable for visitors of all ages.

The “2010 Hsinchu City International Glass Art Festival” features 6 exhibition halls, 1 street, and 12 themed events, including domestic and international master art showcases, outdoor installations, cultural performances, an international creation forum, a glass film festival, master demonstrations, family DIY activities, and glass-themed tours. On Saturdays and Sundays, there are also outdoor cultural performances and family days, where performing groups offer unique music, theater, and dance shows inspired by the theme of glass.

Aside from viewing works and performances, you can also experience the beauty of glass firsthand at the Glass Workshop. There are 67 scheduled glass DIY sessions featuring various techniques such as solid sculpture, hollow blowing, filament weaving, and kiln blowing. Families can use glass materials to create unique ornaments that are both fun and memorable.
