The 2016 Zhubei Children’s Film Festival will officially begin on July 16th. This year’s theme is “Flight,” featuring over 50 films that will take children and adults alike on a cinematic journey where they can “dream of flying.” In addition to well-known animated features such as the movie version of Chibi Maruko-chan, Snoopy, and Aladdin, the festival also includes a wide variety of genres such as documentaries and films adapted from children’s books, ensuring fun for both kids and grown-ups.
The Children’s Film Festival will premiere the movie version of Chibi Maruko-chan: The Boy from Italy at 2 p.m. on July 16th during the opening ceremony, marking its first screening across Taiwan. Beyond the entertaining and thought-provoking films, the festival also features captivating performances by children’s theater troupes, post-screening discussions, guided readings, and other engaging activities. Additionally, there will be free outdoor screenings of The Little Prince, Inside Out, and Animal Formula.
