Hsinchu City’s “Zhongzheng Park Children’s Recreation Revitalization Project” was officially launched today. The distinctive family-friendly recreational space has been fully opened, attracting many parents and children early in the morning to witness its new look and enjoy the novel and fun play facilities.

Hsinchu Mayor Lin Chih-chien stated that the city government invested NT$13 million with a focus on “children’s recreation,” transforming Zhongzheng Park into a family-friendly amusement park that integrates “dynamic experiences, exploratory learning, and extensive green spaces.” This also marks the beginning of Hsinchu’s “Architectural Renaissance,” and he sincerely invites citizens to join the “Baby Fun Festival” this weekend.

Lin noted that Zhongzheng Park previously lacked systematic planning. Due to issues such as poor drainage, damp and dark conditions, and uneven flooring, the park had a low usage rate. This project has improved Hsinchu’s “green coverage,” providing residents with a more accessible and welcoming rest space, with hopes of making it a “Central Children’s Amusement Park.”

Lin emphasized that the park’s newly added “landscape-style slide,” the highly popular sandbox, parent-child sinks inspired by a study trip to Japan, and “bowl-shaped swings” suitable for all children are among the new facilities. Accessibility equipment at the park’s entrances and exits has also been upgraded.

“Is it high enough?” Lin also joined the children on the swings, used the parent-child sinks with kids fresh from playing in the sand, and doodled together, writing “I am the king of kids.” Both adults and children had a great time together, creating a harmonious and joyful atmosphere.

The Hsinchu City Government’s Urban Marketing Office explained that this project takes “children’s education and exploratory growth” as its starting point, establishing public spaces for shared parent-child activities. It incorporates elements of nature and pedestrian-friendly pathways, blends urban aesthetics with green resources, revitalizes Zhongzheng Park, and creates a unique family-friendly recreational space as a model for children’s play in Hsinchu. 1050902
