Phoenix Mountain is located 3 kilometers south of Xiushan County. The lush forests and bamboo groves on the mountain shimmer golden in the sunlight, resembling the wings of a phoenix, while the rising sun gleams like a precious jewel embedded in the phoenix’s head, earning it the reputation of “the Phoenix Spreading Its Wings.” The natural landscape of Phoenix Mountain includes attractions such as Peach Blossom Cave, Lotus Cave, the ancient Lingguan Temple from the Yuan Dynasty, the alchemy site of Yang Jinzhen, the Ming Dynasty Guanyin Pavilion, and the Qing Dynasty Lansheng Pavilion, along with other historic ruins and scenic spots. Surrounding Phoenix Mountain, to the east lies the ruins of “Junfu Cave” from the Yuan Dynasty’s “Nine Streams and Eighteen Caves,” to the south is the “Lotus Emerging from Water” in the Meijiang River, to the west is the “Fengming Academy” built in the 23rd year of the Qing Jiaqing era (1818), and to the north is the “Triangular Rock Stone Bamboo Grove” and other scenic sites.
