With starlight reflecting on the lights, laughter blending with smiles, and music fueling youthful exuberance, the 2019 Qingxiu Mountain Starry Night Camping Party was held on November 2–3 at the Science Education and Research Camp in the eastern area of Qingxiu Mountain. Set against the beautiful and historically rich backdrop of Qingxiu Mountain, the event showcased the vibrant energy of the eastern area and the youth. This event was hosted by the Qingxiu Mountain Scenic Area and organized by Beijing Guo’ao Zhongjian Sports Development Co., Ltd.
Since the opening of the eastern area of the Qingxiu Mountain Scenic Area, the verdant peaks, lush lakeshores, and themed gardens such as the Leaf Garden, Bamboo Garden, and Cherry Blossom Garden have brought vibrant greenery and picturesque views. The hosting of large-scale events such as the Qingxiu Mountain Light Show and the Starry Night Camping Party has brought dynamism to the “urban lung.” On the morning of November 2nd, the Youth Science Education and Research Camp in the eastern area of the Qingxiu Mountain Scenic Area attracted over 1,200 visitors. Amid laughter and joy, the exciting series of the Starry Night Camping Party kicked off, featuring diverse competitive sports and outdoor experiences including attack and defense archery, bubble soccer, 100-meter orienteering, balance biking, Brave the Qingxiu Challenge, stargazing camping, music parties, and the Qingxiu Breakfast Run. These activities offered visitors a multifaceted outdoor lifestyle blending sports, nature, and culture.
Trendy new sports that have swept Europe and gone global—attack and defense archery and bubble soccer—made their debut first, bringing intense, exhilarating youthful competition.
Running through the beautiful landscapes of Qingxiu Mountain and weaving through green waters and floral groves, participants in the 100-meter orienteering race sprinted across the terrain, using their maps to uncover every hidden scenic gem of Qingxiu Mountain.
The most lively moments came from family time—the balance bike races and the Brave the Qingxiu Challenge. Parents joined their children, overcoming obstacles together under guidance and companionship, creating cherished family memories through teamwork.
The nighttime stargazing camping and music party were the perfect ways to unwind and enjoy life. Under the enchanting moonlight and gentle breeze, amidst the twinkling tents under Qingxiu’s most beautiful starry sky, one could almost forget they were in an urban outdoor setting. Independent folk musician Wang Zi Yun and her band delivered tender performances, captivating the audience with beautiful melodies. Under a blanket of stars, nestled in green fields, and lulled by music, visitors drifted into peaceful mountain dreams.
“A day’s plan starts with the morning.” Bathed in the morning sunlight, energize every cell in your body with exercise and enjoy a spa-like experience in the high-negative-ion “urban lung.” After the event, a rich variety of nutritious breakfasts were provided, giving visitors an impression of Qingxiu Mountain as a place full of fun, activity, great food, and stunning scenery.
Through a multifaceted integration of “sports + tourism + entertainment,” the Qingxiu Mountain Starry Night Camping Party leverages the scenic area’s abundant mountain leisure resources, unique educational culture, and premium “sports-tourism landscape” assets. With the goals of “distinctive living, a healthy image, and deep participation,” it is gradually establishing the eastern area of Qingxiu Mountain Scenic Area as a mecca for mountain outdoor enthusiasts, providing the public with a new urban destination for sports, tourism, and cultural leisure.
