Qingxichang Town is one of Chongqing’s top 100 economic towns and a central town, recognized by the county government as the “Hometown of Lantern Art” and the “Hometown of Chenhe Opera.” It is located 10 kilometers southwest of the county seat, with National Highway 326 and county roads Qingjiao and Qingchang running through the area. In April 2011, it was formed through the merger of the former Qingxichang Town and Tang’ao Township. Covering an area of 132 square kilometers, it is the most populous town in the county. The terrain is mainly flatland, making it an important production base for high-quality grain and oil, as well as a key cultivation area for honeysuckle seedlings in the county. The honeysuckle planting area spans 20,000 mu. The area boasts rich tourism resources, including the Tomb of the Miao King, the Kèzhài Covered Bridge, ancient underground tunnel ruins, the Tusi City ruins, Kongming Cave, Longchao Lake, Dazhai Village, ten-thousand-mu rapeseed flower seas, and the Pingjiangqiao Agricultural Comprehensive Development Demonstration Park. The local customs are simple and honest, with solid foundations in culture and sports, along with superior geographical and natural conditions—making it an ideal destination for sightseeing, tourism, and vacation.
