Ancient Pavilions of Shaodong

The architecture of ancient pavilions is a distinctive feature of Shaodong County. These pavilions are typically located along major transportation routes to provide travelers with a place to rest and take shelter from the heat. Among the surviving pavilions are Shuangjiang Pavilion, Fengshu Pavilion, Lingjiang Pavilion, Huancui Pavilion, Yufeng Pavilion, Siyi Pavilion, Leshan Pavilion, Dougong Pavilion, Dashan Pavilion, and Qingsong Pavilion. Most were built during the Qing Dynasty, except for Lingyun Pavilion, which dates back 200 years.
