In conjunction with the Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival events in New Taipei City on February 22, 27, and March 5, the Keelung City Bus Authority will assist in operating direct buses from the city’s main bus terminal to Shiding to facilitate tourist access. Additionally, on February 27, the “Railway Fireworks Festival” will be held in Qidu District of Keelung City, linking up with New Taipei City’s Sky Lantern Festival, featuring a fireworks display at 9 PM that evening.

During the Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival events on February 22 (4th day of Lunar New Year), 27 (9th day), and March 5, city buses will operate from the main terminal via Nuannuan and the Jifu Highway, running directly to Shiding between 9 AM and 7 PM. For the section between Shiding and Pingxi, shuttle services will be provided by Taipei Bus, commissioned by New Taipei City. However, as the event venue on March 5 is located at the Shiding Visitor Center, all shuttle buses will not be allowed to enter the Shiding area. City buses will only go as far as the entrance of the Jiping Tunnel (the head of Jiping Bridge on the New Taipei City side), and visitors will need to walk to the Shiding Visitor Center (approximately 15 to 20 minutes).

The “Railway Fireworks Festival” at Qidu District’s Railway Park on February 27 will feature a fireworks display at 9 PM as the highlight of the evening. In the afternoon, a DIY lantern workshop for families will be held at the Yongping Neighborhood Activity Center, where the public can also exchange receipts for lanterns. From 6 PM to 9 PM, there will be exciting performances, along with a lucky draw that includes prizes such as three 42-inch LCD TVs. Everyone is welcome to take public transportation and join in this event.
