No need to go abroad for night cherry blossoms — New Taipei City launches its first “Wulai Weekend Night Cherry Blossom Viewing”

Not just at the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village — you can now also experience night cherry blossom viewing in Wulai, New Taipei City. For the first time this year, the New Taipei City Government has piloted a night cherry blossom event at Wulai Warriors’ Square. From February 6th for three consecutive days, you can enjoy the charm of night cherry blossoms right here in Wulai.

The New Taipei City Government stated that this year marks the first time they have piloted a night cherry blossom event at Wulai Warriors’ Square. Using LED lights with cool light that changes color, the magnificent waterfall, beautiful cherry blossoms, and shifting lights create a scene different from the daytime. The event can be enjoyed from 5 PM to 10 PM on February 6th, 7th, and 8th.

To align with the blooming period, traffic control measures will be implemented during the night cherry blossom event to improve traffic conditions around Warriors’ Square. Additionally, single-side parking along the mountainside along Xinfu Road (next to Warriors’ Square) will be allowed during the night blossom period, helping to maintain local environmental quality, residents’ rights, and the convenience of visitors looking for parking. Those who prefer public transportation can take bus 849 from “Xinshijie MRT Station” for the “Wulai–Taipei Main Station” route.

The New Taipei City Landscape Bureau also suggests that visitors can first explore local delicacies at Wulai Old Street during the day, ride the Wulai Train through the mountain forests all the way to Wulai Waterfall, and then head to Warriors’ Square in the evening for night cherry blossom viewing.
