Top 10 Popular Salted Egg Yolk Pastry Shops in New Taipei City Released – Enjoy Mooncakes to Your Heart’s Content This Mid-Autumn Festival!

The results of the 2015 Salted Egg Yolk Pastry Festival voting event, organized by New Taipei City Government, were announced on the 14th, selecting ten popular salted egg yolk pastry shops. Among them, Longfengtang Pastry Shop in Luzhou, Wangshi Master Pastry Shop in Yonghe, and Jili Pastry Store in Sanchong all won the Grand Jury Award.

The New Taipei City Department of Economic Development stated that this year’s Salted Egg Yolk Pastry Festival broke away from the traditional on-site competition format, adopting three mechanisms: public recommendations, on-site visits, and shop counseling. In the first phase of the online voting event, over 12,000 members of the public participated, nominating 47 shops, from which 10 popular shops were selected.

In the second phase, expert evaluations were conducted by dessert master Huang Fushou and food safety expert Wen Anchang, who provided improvement suggestions to shops regarding their on-site production staff, hygiene environment, and storage of raw materials and ingredients. The two experts, together with five food bloggers, formed the judging panel to select three Grand Jury Award winners.
