1. Tamsui Fisherman’s Wharf

With its beautiful and romantic scenery, this place often gathers many people at dusk to admire the famous Tamsui sunset. The Lover’s Bridge that spans the harbor area, shaped like a sailboat, is a famous landmark. It looks especially beautiful under the lights at night and is a great spot for couples to take a stroll and go on dates, as well as one of the best places to enjoy the moon during the Mid-Autumn Festival.

2. Yangmingshan Qingtiangang

Thanks to its higher elevation, it offers a panoramic view of the beautiful nightscapes of the Taipei Basin and the Jinshan Plain. 3. Muzha Maokong
Maokong, located near the suburbs of Taipei, sees less light pollution due to its mountainous location. On clear days, you can enjoy views of Taipei from the mountains, and at night, it becomes a prime spot for admiring the city’s night view, making it a great place for moon viewing. In the past, Maokong was one of Taipei’s largest tea-producing areas. Today, it focuses mainly on tourism and leisure, combining traditional tea culture with dining to become a renowned tea-tasting destination. Visitors can stroll to nearby open-air tea terraces or garden teahouses to enjoy tea, admire the moon, and count stars in a relaxing atmosphere. You can take the Maokong Gondola to get there, and during the day, you can also visit the zoo at the foot of the mountain for a wonderful Mid-Autumn experience!

4. Nantou Sun Moon Lake
Sun Moon Lake is located in Yuchi Township, Nantou County, in the central part of Taiwan Island, and is the largest freshwater lake in Taiwan, as well as the most beautiful alpine lake. With its picturesque scenery and tranquil lake surface, it has long been a popular tourist destination for many. Visiting Sun Moon Lake is an excellent choice for moon viewing during the Mid-Autumn Festival, with the best spots being around Chaowu Pier and Shuishe Pier. Whether day or night, all four seasons, Sun Moon Lake offers different views. 5. Kaohsiung West Coast National Scenic Area (West Bay)
West Bay is located on the western side of Kaohsiung City, at the foothills of the southwestern end of Shoushan Mountain, bordered by Wanshou Mountain to the north and Qijin Peninsula to the south. It is a bay known for its beautiful sunset views and natural rock formations, featuring shallow sandy beaches and a seaside bathing beach rich in southern charm, making it a great spot for couples to go on dates. West Bay is about a 20-minute drive from the city center. At night, the twinkling lights of fishing boats create a highly poetic scene. In addition to being a famous spot for watching sunsets, it is also an excellent place for moon viewing.

6. Kenting Nanwan
Kenting is surrounded by sea on three sides, and due to its southern tropical climate, even in autumn, there's only the gentle coolness of late summer with a light breeze—no sign of cold weather. Nanwan is renowned for its crystal-clear blue waters and an almost one-kilometer-long stretch of continuous sandy beach. During the day, it’s bustling with activity, dotted with umbrellas, bikinis, and beach volleyball courts, creating a vibrant tropical seaside vibe. At night, however, it takes on a completely different character. With its expansive open space and minimal light pollution, it’s an excellent spot for moon-gazing.
