Princess Zhaojun's Nanmu Well is a cultural relic protection unit of Hubei Province.

Princess Zhaojun's Nanmu Well

Located in Baoping Village, Gaoyang Town, Xingshan County. It was dug during the late Western Han Dynasty by Princess Zhaojun and the villagers. The well has a hexagonal mouth, with each side measuring 1 meter and a depth of 1.5 meters. It is built with bluestone. A nanmu (phoebe nanmu) log placed inside the well has remained unrotted for a thousand years, hence the name "Nanmu Well." The water is crystal clear and never runs dry throughout the year.
