Xikou Foreign-Style House

The Xikou Foreign-Style House is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Hubei Province.

Foreign-Style House

Located in Huangjiahe Village, Xikou Town, Xingshan County. Built in 1911 by the Wen brothers, local gentry from Xingshan County, it earned the nickname "Foreign-Style House" due to its Western architectural style. Covering a land area of 636 square meters and a built-up area of 700 square meters, the building features a symmetrical layout and an open design. It includes seven main rooms and three auxiliary rooms on each side, constructed with a brick-and-wood structure, using a post-and-lintel framework and covered with a hip-and-gable roof topped with green tiles. Both the doors and windows are designed with round arches. This building is an important physical example of cultural exchange in architectural styles between China and foreign countries in the mountainous regions of western Hubei. (Fifth Batch)
