The site of the Tanping Communist Labor University is a cultural heritage protection unit of Yichang City.

The site of the Tanping Communist Labor University is located in Group 5, Tanping Village, Zhaojun Town, Xingshan County. It was included in the fourth batch of cultural heritage protection units of Yichang City in 2011.

Tanping Village: Tanping Village is located in the northwest of Zhaojun Town (formerly Gaoyang Town). The village has 5 villager groups, 75 natural hamlets, 466 households, a total population of 1,466, and 876 laborers. The mountainous area covers 45,000 mu, arable land 1,968 mu, dry land 1,738 mu, and paddy fields 230 mu. There is one Party general branch in the village, with 43 CPC members. The “two committees” have a well-balanced age structure among veterans, middle-aged, and young members, with the secretary also serving as the director. The main village cadres are the youngest among the nine villages in the town.
