[Shiyan People's Park] A national AAAA-level scenic area. Located in the city center of Shiyan, accessible via the Han-Shi Expressway and the Xiangyu Railway, it is a comprehensive cultural park integrating leisure, entertainment, sightseeing, and science education, approved for establishment by the Shiyan Municipal Government in 1981. The park covers an area of 394 mu, of which the green space accounts for 342 mu, with a green coverage rate of 87%. Built against hills and beside water, the park enjoys an elegant environment, fresh air, lush trees, and green lawns. It features pavilions, winding paths, picturesque mountains and waters, and pleasant scenery. The park combines natural and cultural landscapes, including the front area, Four Seasons Garden, zoo, skating rink, mountain slide, and replica Great Wall. The front area spans 4,800 square meters in a large oval shape, featuring a Western-style artificial lake surrounded by osmanthus, willows, and palm trees, exuding a strong southern charm, complemented by small bridges and flowing water features. The Four Seasons Garden boasts a rich variety of plants, with peach and plum blossoms competing in spring, a riot of flowers in summer, sweet osmanthus fragrance in autumn, and proud plum blossoms in winter. The zoo is home to a full range of large animals such as lions, tigers, leopards, bears, ostriches, yaks, and camels. Among zoos of the same level in the province, it ranks among the top in terms of animal species, numbers, scientific management, disease prevention, animal breeding capabilities, and other comprehensive indicators. The park houses the largest and highest-end indoor activity venue in northwestern Hubei — the Weiwēi Disco Skating World — covering approximately 1,800 square meters. The mountain slide is 638.9 meters long, with a height difference of 30 meters between the upper and lower stations, an average slope of 12 degrees, five turns, over 50 sleds, and an electric lift. Its quality and scale make it the “No. 1 Slide in Northwestern Hubei.” The replica Great Wall is 1,600 meters long, with a main body 2.5 meters high and 3.3 meters wide. It includes a climbing corridor, five watchtowers, and one large arrow tower. The main peak watchtower stands at an altitude of 386 meters, making it the highest scenic point in the urban area.
