First “Greater Bay Area Smart City Application Ranking” Released
In January 2017, Guangzhou issued the “13th Five-Year Plan for the Development of Informatization in Guangzhou (2016-2020),” positioning Guangzhou as a pioneer zone for national new-type smart cities and proposing that by 2020, the construction of new-type smart cities would reach a new level. Urban components, urban events, urban organizations, and people would achieve more thorough perception; urban operations would enable full-time, all-round visibility and more comprehensive interconnectivity; urban operations would become safer, more stable, and more reliable; and the refinement level of urban management would be significantly improved.
The Nandu Big Data Research Institute believes that smart cities can leverage their advantages in various aspects such as urban governance and economic driving, with their functions showing a trend toward diversification. The development of smart cities will inevitably change urban construction concepts and models, promote a shift in public management towards user-driven approaches, and drive urban governance and development from unilateral efforts to collaborative and shared progress. The key to achieving the above goals lies in the deep integration of technology and urban development.
To this end, the Science and Technology Innovation Research Group of the Nandu Big Data Research Institute released the “Greater Bay Area Technology and Urban Integration Report” (hereinafter referred to as the “Report”) at the forum. Ren Xianbo, the person in charge, introduced that the “Report” focuses on three major research directions: data analysis, enterprise and policy research, and summarizing strategies to expand integration development space. Its main content includes data analysis, research on major city policies, a summary of nine current challenges in smart city construction, and explores paths and directions for the development of new-type smart cities in Guangzhou.
Based on the aforementioned “Report,” the Nandu Big Data Research Institute launched the first “Greater Bay Area Smart City Application Ranking.” By screening and evaluating 100 smart city-related applications across five indicator dimensions—smart city application fields, livelihood applications and user experience, public sentiment, innovation capability, and future development—20 representative smart city application cases in Guangzhou were ultimately selected.

Intelligent Voice Guides Enrich the “Knowledge” Experience of Travel
The “Report” points out that currently, smart cultural tourism is notably reflected in customized online services and is developing rapidly. Against the backdrop of the country’s strong push for supply-side reform, many major tourism provinces and renowned tourist cities have developed smart scenic spot applications, launching more humanized and self-service-oriented smart tourism products. Clearly, smart cultural tourism has become an indispensable part of the smart city construction process.

In this selection, Lvcii Technology became the only tourism enterprise on the list. As one of the research subjects of the Nandu Big Data Research Institute, Lvcii Technology launched an intelligent voice guide service app and created a hand-drawn tourist map combining customized travel for Guangzhou with intelligent voice guidance. Notably, the citation for Lvcii Technology’s inclusion reads: Intelligent voice guides enrich the “knowledge” experience of travel.
A relevant person in charge of Lvcii Technology stated that this award and the associated citation represent external recognition of the company’s efforts in smart city and smart tourism construction in recent years. In the future, Lvcii Technology will continue to leverage its strengths, increase R&D investment and innovation in areas such as intelligent guidance, tourism database construction, and hand-drawn maps, broaden the application scope of its products, enhance the travel experience of Guangzhou residents, and help propel Guangzhou’s smart city construction to new heights.
It is understood that Lvcii Technology was established in December 2013. The company is based on two core strategies—scenic spot guidance and comprehensive area guidance—and focuses on the R&D of electronic tour guide software, comprehensive area guidance systems, and the development of tourism-related supporting businesses. It is a globally renowned expert in smart tourism industry solutions. Based on the total transaction volume in 2018, Lvcii Technology held an 86.2% share of the domestic market.
