Guam Discount Season Shopping Ambassadors Reveal Luxury Brand Treasure-Hunting Secrets

The "Guam Shopping Carnival" discount season, promoted by the Guam Visitors Bureau, has kicked off locally and will continue until the end of January. Zhang Xiangxiang, the first Taiwanese ambassador for the Guam Shopping Festival and one of the Top 10 Anonymous Beauties of 2012, shared first-hand information on the various promotions of the Guam Shopping Carnival with Taiwan’s shopping enthusiasts. These include up to 50% off on the Vivienne Westwood brand, beloved by individualistic women, at The Plaza mall, and even more stunning discounts such as 35% off on selected styles from high-quality leather brand Aerosoles. The outlet center GPO is also offering large-scale discounts, including 70% off BCBG dresses, buy-one-get-the-second-half-off deals on women’s shoes from NINE WEST, and Vitamin World offering the second vitamin product for just 1 cent USD.

Shopping ambassadors from eight regions—including Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Mainland China, the Philippines, Russia, and North America—were the first to embark on their shopping journeys, hitting the four most iconic malls: DFS, The Plaza, Tumon Sands Plaza, and GPO. "Thanks to Guam’s duty-free benefits, even luxury bags that never go on sale are cheaper than in Taiwan!" laughed Zhang Xiangxiang, who did her homework in advance. In addition to high-end international designer brands, Zhang Xiangxiang, who has become somewhat of a Guam shopping expert, also recommends that those planning to shop in Guam must visit the Guam brand outlet center GPO to hunt for treasures.

The Guam Shopping Carnival offers endless perks. In addition to discounts, shoppers visiting DFS in January may also have the chance to win luxury brand handbags worth over 40,000 TWD from well-known Italian brands. From now until January 25, 2013, travelers can pick up a raffle entry form at DFS, fill it out, and drop it into the Taiwan-area raffle box to participate. Additionally, Fanta Travel Agency is offering special deals from the Baldyga Group: anyone who signs up for Guam tours departing on January 23 or February 2 will receive discount vouchers worth 50 USD (approximately 1,500 TWD) for attractions under the Baldyga Group, including The Beach BBQ, Sandcastle Show, and Linala Cultural Village. Century Travel Agency is also offering coffee and dessert vouchers worth 8 USD (approximately 240 TWD) for the Tumon Sands Plaza, available to the first 8 people to sign up for their winter vacation group tours on January 23, 26, 30, February 2, and 9.
