The “Japan Tohoku Festival,” which attracts nearly 100,000 visitors each year to experience authentic Japanese culture, will be held from December 8th to 10th at Huashan 1914 Creative Park. This year’s event will feature for the first time traditional highlights such as the Aomori Hirosaki Giant Nebuta Lantern Festival and the Iwate must-try food “Soba in a Bowl Taiwan Regional Representative Selection.” The festival will also import Akita washi paper balloons and use snow machines to recreate snow igloos and traditional performances themed around winter festivals, delivering 100% authentic Japanese Tohoku charm.

1. World’s Tallest Akita Dog
Imported directly from Akita Prefecture, this 3-meter-tall Akita dog—the tallest in the dog world—will meet visitors.

2. Snowmobile & Snow Igloo
Snow machines imported from Japan’s Tohoku region will build two 2-meter-high snow igloos, along with cute snowmen and winter festival decorations, at the venue’s perimeter—letting you feel the romantic atmosphere of Japan’s famous snow igloo festivals.

4. Soba in a Bowl National Competition – Taiwan Regional Selection
The Soba in a Bowl competition, held annually in February in Hanamaki City, Iwate Prefecture, will host its Taiwan regional selection at the Tohoku Festival this year ! At 12:30 PM on December 8th, a celebrity eating contest featuring a popular internet foodie will kick off on the main stage. Additionally, a selection round will be held once a day from December 8th to 10th—open for all general visitors to join.
 
5. Aomori Oma Tuna Nigiri Sushi
The “Matsuzaka brand” of the tuna world is none other than Aomori Oma tuna ! Specially brought from Aomori, Japan, via Tokyo’s Tsukiji Market, all the way to Taipei’s Huashan 1914 Creative Park. The preview will prioritize offering: freshly made big toro and other premium tuna nigiri sushi varieties by an on-site Japanese chef. < /span>
