Chunqiu Square

Chunqiu Tower Square in Xuchang is located in Weidu District, Xuchang City, Henan Province, on the middle section of Jianshe Road, south of Chunqiu Tower. Historically, it has been known as Guan Gong’s Residence, Temple of Martial King An, Temple of Guan Wang, “Two Courts’ Heroic Spirit” Temple, Temple of Lord Guan, and Guan Di Temple. It is an ancient architectural complex in the Ming and Qing styles, designated as a key cultural relic protection unit of Henan Province and a national 3A-level tourist attraction.

Chunqiu Square is an urban plaza in Xuchang City, Henan Province, named after the nearby Chunqiu Tower where the legendary general Guan Yu was said to have read the Spring and Autumn Annals at night. During holidays, the square is bustling with visitors. Bathed in the warm sunlight, one can sit on the stone benches, admire the scenic beauty of the square, watch people strolling leisurely, relax the mind, relieve stress, and ease the loneliness of being away from home — all while a sense of joy naturally arises.
