Shangqiu People's Park

Shangqiu People's Park was established in 1958 and is located in the northeast of the city, covering a total area of 35.24 hectares. Garden Road and Youth Road intersect here. Multiple bus lines lead directly to the park, giving it a prime location. The Bao River runs through the park, naturally dividing it into a front section featuring floral displays and animal exhibits, and a rear section consisting of the Dongfeng Lake landscape garden area. It is currently the only large comprehensive park in Shangqiu.

In recent years, after extensive renovation and construction, the overall appearance of the park has been significantly enhanced. The man-made landscapes and garden features are harmoniously unified and complement each other. Infrastructure and comprehensive service functions have been increasingly improved, with green space coverage now exceeding 80% and water area covering 15%. The park has been awarded the title of “Civilized Unit” multiple times at the provincial, municipal, and district levels. In 2000, it was recognized as a “Model Window Service Unit” by the Provincial Department of Construction, and in 2002, it fully achieved the “Provincial Greening Standard.” Today, Shangqiu People's Park features “lush green trees,” “scenic beauty,” “lake and mountain views,” and “pleasant scenery.” It has become a high-end, high-quality advanced park in eastern Henan.
