Futuristic green architecture – Taiwan’s most stylish and innovative hub

Located in Zhongxing New Village, Nantou, there is an advanced research park that integrates humanities, ecology, and technology – the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ Central Taiwan Innovation Campus. Its fashionable and avant-garde architectural aesthetics attract many netizens to take photos, making it a popular photo spot. As part of the “Twelve Major Construction Projects” promoted by the Ma Ying-jeou administration, the campus aims to transform Taiwan’s central industries into innovation-driven R&D sectors. It replicates and improves upon the successful model of the open labs at the Industrial Technology Research Institute’s Zhongxing Branch, offering over 30 pieces of equipment available for rent.

The Central Taiwan Innovation Campus focuses on three major R&D pillars: “Next-Generation Smart Machine Technology,” “Advanced Greenhouse System Technology,” and “Service Technology and Emotional Design Technology.” Leveraging the resources of two major institutions, the Industrial Technology Research Institute and the Institute for Information Industry, and combining industry-academia R&D resources from the central region, it builds an innovation-driven platform for central Taiwan’s industries. The campus attracts key manufacturers to collaborate and co-develop, supporting the growth of central Taiwan’s industries, fostering emerging sectors, and deepening regional industrial clusters.
