Taiwan's largest lotus pond in full bloom features an arc-shaped scenic bridge for free viewing

The Dongshi Forestry Culture Park features a 5-hectare ecological pond where lotuses are in full bloom, making it the largest single lotus pond in Taiwan. The park is open to the public for free. Currently, the lotuses are in full bloom, often attracting wild birds from the nearby Daxue Mountain to perch by the pond. There’s also a historic sawmill scene, ensuring visitors can enjoy a fulfilling experience.

Originally established as the sawmill of the government-owned Daxue Mountain Forestry Company, the Dongshi Forestry Park is located on Dongguan Road in Dongshi District, along the route to Guguan, Baishan Mountain, and the Daxue Mountain National Forest Recreation Area. Every summer during the lotus blooming season, the pond is covered with blooming lotuses, set against a backdrop of green mountains, clear waters, traditional houses, and wood carvings—creating a picturesque rural scene that attracts many photography enthusiasts and tourists.
