Nanyang Ancient Architectural Complex

The Nanyang Ancient Architectural Complex is a cultural heritage protection unit of Shandong Province.

The Nanyang Ancient Architectural Complex is located in Nanyang Town and dates back to the Ming and Qing dynasties.

It includes a money shop, the Kangxi Imperial Banquet Hall, the Hall House, the Ma Family Flagpole, the Mosque, the Goddess Temple, the Imperial Palace Office, and the Imperial Grain Hall.

On October 10, 2013, the Nanyang Ancient Architectural Complex was announced by the People's Government of Shandong Province as part of the fourth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units in Shandong.

Nanyang Town: Nanyang Town is situated on Nanyang Lake at the northern tip of Weishan Lake. The ancient Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal runs through the town. It borders Jining to the north, faces Fengxian and Pei counties in Jiangsu to the south, neighbors the sacred lands of Confucius and Mencius—Qufu and Zoucheng—to the east, and connects to Heze, the hometown of peonies, to the west. Formerly part of Yutai County, it now belongs to Weishan County. In addition to Nanyang Island, over 80 small islands are scattered across the vast expanse of Nanyang Lake, creating a unique northern water town landscape where settlements face each other across the water.
