Lushan Forest Farm

Situated between the mountain ranges of Lucun and Liangcheng in Liangcheng Township, the farm is bounded by Xiangbishan Mountain to the south, Beihuangshankou to the north, Miaoshan Mountain to the west, and Jiwuo Mountain to the east. It spans 6 kilometers from north to south and 2 kilometers from east to west, with a total area of 7,016 mu. The farm was founded in August 1960 on the basis of a county-operated orchard. In its initial phase, it had 15 employees (including 5 cadres and 10 workers), 35 houses, and total fixed assets worth 30,000 yuan.

In 1963, the planting of Cupressus funebris and Robinia pseudoacacia protective forests began. From 1964 to 1972, the annual afforestation area consistently exceeded 500 mu (with over 1,000 mu planted in both 1966 and 1967). To meet afforestation needs during the 1960s, a permanent nursery of 15 mu was established for self-propagated seedlings. In the 1980s, over 100 mu of economic forests were developed (including 40 mu of orchards). By 1983, a forestry resources survey recorded that Lushan Forest Farm had 1.2 million trees of various species, including Cupressus funebris and Robinia pseudoacacia, with a total timber volume of 110,000 cubic meters.

In 1990, Lushan Forest Farm was divided into two forest districts and three forest patrol stations, with 10 rangers assigned to manage and protect the areas under contract. The entire forest farm enjoys a tranquil environment and fresh air, making it an ideal destination for tourism and leisure.
