The Weishan Lake (Gaolou) Fishing Village Water Street scenic area is located in the southern part of Weishan Lake and is a national-level agricultural tourism demonstration site. It lies to the east of Weishan County, borders Pei County of Jiangsu Province to the west, with the Xuzhou-Peixian Highway running along its edge, reaches Xuzhou to the south where the Beijing-Shanghai and Longhai railways intersect, offering convenient land and water transportation. The scenic area features vast, misty lake surfaces stretching as far as the eye can see. Boating on the lake, one is in the boat, the boat on the water, the water meeting the sky, as if entering a fairyland. Visitors can not only linger to enjoy the beautiful lake views but also head to the welcoming fishing boats to taste fresh lake delicacies. In spring, the sky is azure and the water blends seamlessly with the horizon; in summer, clear ripples spread out amid lotus blossoms, with floral reflections shimmering on the water and water reflections dancing in the sky. As summer gives way to autumn, the lotus flowers fade and the green waves turn golden. Boating through the lotus fields, one can pick lotus seeds and autumn water caltrops. By late autumn, when the lotuses have withered and the reeds bloom, the reed marshes stretch into a vast expanse. When the west wind rises, the fluff floats gently through the air. The lake air is crisp and refreshing, and one can listen to the fishermen’s rhythmic net-hauling chants and share in their joy of harvest. In winter, everything is pure and pristine under a blanket of snow, presenting a scene of entirely different charm.

Tour Route: Pick-up in Weishan County, transfer by vehicle to Aihu Wharf, then take a sightseeing boat and travel along the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal for 20 minutes (10 minutes) to the Guanhua Platform primitive ecological wetland scenic spot. Stay for 60 minutes (transfer to a motorized small boat to cruise through the reed marshes and lotus ponds, admiring the wetland scenery, various wetland birds, and fishermen at work). Then, take the sightseeing boat into the main body of Weishan Lake, traveling for about 100 minutes (30 minutes) to reach the Weishan Lake Fishing Village Water Street. Enjoy a cormorant fishing performance on the open lake (about 30 minutes), then head to the water street and onto a fishing boat to prepare and taste an authentic wild fish feast (about 60 minutes). After a short rest, paddle a small boat to stroll the area, shop, fish, or play water fights (100 minutes). Around 3:00 PM, take a sightseeing boat (or speedboat) back to Aihu or Weihu Wharf (or stay overnight at the Fishing Village Water Street and join the fishermen the next morning for lake fishing to experience the joy of harvest).
