The Ancient Weishan Ship Lock

The Ancient Weishan Ship Lock is a cultural heritage protection unit of Shandong Province.

The Ancient Weishan Ship Lock is located in Luqiao and dates back to the Yuan to Qing dynasties.

It includes the Zhongqian Lock, Shizhuang Lock, and Zaolin Lock.

On October 10, 2013, the Ancient Weishan Ship Lock was designated as part of the fourth batch of Provincial-level Cultural Heritage Protection Units by the People's Government of Shandong Province.

Luqiao Town: Luqiao Town is situated in the northernmost part of Weishan County, on both the eastern and western shores of Nanyang Lake. To the east, it faces Liangcheng across the Baima River, while to the west, it borders three counties and four towns including Rencheng and Yutai. It is approximately 30 kilometers from Jining City. The terrain is higher in the west and lower in the east, forming a plain area surrounded by water on three sides and backed by mountains on one. The area is rich in water resources, has deep soil layers, an extensive network of waterways and roads, and enjoys a mild and humid climate.

Luqiao was originally part of the Yellow River basin and has a long and profound history. The ancient culture of its region belongs to the Dawenkou Culture and the later Longshan Culture.
