The Huan Cheng Secondary Dam is a cultural heritage site protected by Jining City.

The Secondary Dam is located in Huan Cheng Town and dates back to the modern era. It is a municipal-level cultural heritage site under the protection of Jining City.

The Secondary Dam is situated in the middle of the Nansi Lakes, spanning the waist of the lake and dividing the Nansi Lakes into upper and lower sections. It extends 7,360 meters from the western embankment of the old canal at Changkou in the east to the eastern embankment of the Shunti River southeast of Dongdingguantun Village in the west. It includes: an earthen dam for lake containment, the first, second, third, and fourth sluice gates, a ship lock, a spillway, and more. The fourth sluice gate was completed in 1975 after 17 years of construction. Subsequent renovations and reinforcements were carried out on the second and first sluice gates in 1985, 1998, and 2004, respectively.

Huan Cheng Town: Located in the central part of Weishan County on the eastern shore of the Zhaoyang Lake, Huan Cheng Town is one of the key transportation hubs in southwestern Shandong. Ten li to the west lies the Secondary Dam sluice gate bordering Pei County of Jiangsu Province, while five li to the east it connects with Zaozhuang City, giving rise to the saying “one bridge divides two provinces, ten li links three counties.” The town is irregularly diamond-shaped, stretching 15 km from southeast to northwest and 10 km from east to west, covering a total area of 133.4 square kilometers. It administers 8 management areas and 77 administrative villages, with a total population of 96,000 and arable land spanning 65,000 mu.
