Siting WenDu Archway

Siting WenDu, or Siting WenDu Archway, is located at Xiazhen Sluice and is a Qing Dynasty structure. Legend has it that when Liu Bang was the head of Siting, he led a rebellion against the Qin Dynasty. After suffering a defeat with no place to flee, he came to the banks of the Si River to seek passage across. The local boatmen pointed him the way and helped him escape, allowing him to survive. During the Qing Dynasty, when Emperor Kangxi made his southern inspection tour, he inquired about the story of Siting Ferry, prompting Li Xixiong, an official from the Ministry of Works, to erect this archway. Once completed, the archway stood proudly on the sluice, presenting a magnificent sight. All passing boats praised it, and people commended the archway for embodying the grandeur of the Han Dynasty.
