Tomb of Xin Qiji

The Tomb of Xin Qiji is a cultural tourism attraction.

Located on Yangyuan Mountain in Yanjialong, southwest of Chenjiazhai at the Drum Tower Gate (also known as Hutou Gate). The tomb was originally built with bluestone, and at the entrance of the tomb path stood a stele inscribed with “The Divine Path of Jiaxuan,” which was destroyed during the Yongzheng reign of the Qing Dynasty. Later, the stone slabs of the tomb foundation were stolen, leaving only a earthen mound and one tombstone. The inscription on the stele reads: “The Honorable Late Father, Mr. Xin Jiaxuan,” which was restored in the 40th year of the Qianlong reign by twenty-fifth-generation descendants including Xixi and eight others. The restored tomb covers an area of 51.5 square meters, stands 2.5 meters high, and is surrounded by four layers of bluestone. At the front is the original stele, with imitation stone cement pillars on both sides. The pillars are inscribed with couplets written by Guo Moruo for the Jinan Xin Family Memorial Hall: “With iron-plated zithers and bronze lutes, we follow Su Dongpo in singing of the great river flowing east; With bitter herbs and mournful millet, we hope the Southern Song will not flee southward like wild geese.” There are nineteen stone steps leading from the front of the tomb down to the foot of the mountain.
