It encompasses well-preserved historic buildings including Shengchun Hao, Dongzhu Ancestral Hall, Tianhe Hao, Laijia Hang, Songtai Hang, Zhou Ancestral Hall, Rao Family Residence, Lin Family Old House, Wang Family Mansion, Zha Family Hao, Shang Huachao Gate and Xia Huachao Gate of the Zhu Family Old Residence, and Shuji Hang, among others. This site bears witness to the hidden history of the concentration camp. It stands not only as a historical testament to the bloody atrocities committed by the reactionary faction of the Kuomintang, a veritable hell on earth, but also as physical evidence of the courageous resistance put up by communists and revolutionaries against that faction. Moreover, as a cluster of ancient architecture, it showcases exquisite construction techniques, intricate carvings, refined craftsmanship, and incorporates rich cultural elements such as human history, folklore, and architectural artistry, making it of considerable historical and cultural value.

The Shitang Site of the Shangrao Concentration Camp has been designated as a Jiangxi Provincial Cultural Heritage Protection Unit.
