Taiyuan She Ethnic Township: A She ethnic autonomous township under the jurisdiction of Yanshan County. It is a major producer of timber and bamboo in the county. Established as Taiyuan She Ethnic Commune in 1980, it was reorganized as Taiyuan She Ethnic Autonomous Township in 1984. Located in the southwestern part of the county on the upper reaches of Chenfang River, it is 36 kilometers from the county seat. To the south, it borders Siqian Township of Guangze County, Fujian Province. Covering an area of 64 square kilometers with a population of 2,000, the Wanger (Er)–Chenfang Highway extends to Xikeng. The township administers four village committees: Shécūn, Taiyuán, Xīkēng, and Mǎ’ān. Predominantly mountainous, it has 110,000 mu of forest land, accounting for 96% of the total land area.
