Hekou Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Yanshan County and the county seat. Historically known as Shawan Market, it was renamed Hekou in the early Ming Dynasty. Established as Hekou Town in 1949, reorganized as Hekou Town People's Commune in 1958, and restored as Hekou Town in 1981. It is situated in the northern part of the county on the southern bank of the Xin River, 31 kilometers from the city center. The town covers an area of 22.7 square kilometers with a population of 32,000. The town government is located in Hekou. The Hengfeng–Nanping Railway runs through the central area, with a stop at Yanshan Station. The Leping–Jiangcun Highway intersects the Hekou–Hengfeng Highway here.
