TANHUA TEMPLE is a cultural tourism attraction.

TANHUA TEMPLE is located in the central area of Tanhua, Penggao Town, northern Pingxiang, adjacent to Chishan, Dongyuan, and Futian, and is connected to the tourist destination Yilong Cave. It is a historic Buddhist temple with a long history.

In ancient times, this area was originally a high mountain called "Longquan Mountain." Due to tectonic movements, the former mountain turned into Baimi Lake, with small hills rising around it, resembling layers of lotus petals cradling a jade spring in the lake. The scene looked as if lotuses were in full bloom. Coupled with the beautiful legends of Tanhua, the name "Tanhua" was thus derived.

Since ancient times, it has been widely celebrated with the saying, "Tanhua came before Cihua." Additionally, the Longquan Spring of Tanhua is uniquely splendid, unparalleled in the world. The hexagonal walled well is as pure as jade. Inside the spring, “jade-like water bubbles continuously emerge, and schools of goldfish swim leisurely,” creating a magnificent sight. “The Longquan Spring here forms a scenic marvel” is a phrase of praise from Lu Shixun, the magistrate of Pingxiang County during the Wanli era. The Longquan Spring has maintained the same water quality for a thousand years, remaining crystal clear, warm in winter and cool in summer, truly enchanting.
