Paradise Lake

Paradise Lake is located in Chishan Town, Shangli County. Originally named Huangtukai Reservoir, it was built in 1958. The lake covers an area of 1,050 acres with a water storage capacity of 12 million cubic meters. It is surrounded by mountains on three sides and a dam on the fourth. The dam is 20 meters high and over 140 meters long, stretching in a band-like shape. There are several small islands in the lake, covered with uneven, lush trees that exude vibrant vitality. To the left and right of the lake are two rolling green mountains called Yeheshan (Night-Embracing Mountains). Structures such as "Deyuelou," "Baili Resort," and "Paradise Lake Summer Resort" have been built around Paradise Lake.

Chishan Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Shangli County. In 1959, Chishan Commune was established; in 1961, it was placed under Futian District; in 1962, it was divided into Chishan and Louxia communes; in 1966, Chishan Commune was re-established; in 1984, it was restructured as a township; and in 1995, it was upgraded to a town. Located in the southeastern part of the county, the town government is stationed in Baotaling, 26 kilometers from the county seat. It covers an area of 91.2 square kilometers with a population of 54,000. National Highway 319 passes through the area.
