Lilang Bridge

Lilang Bridge is a cultural heritage site protected by Pingxiang City.

Lilang Bridge is located on the Lishui River in Shangli Town, Shangli County, connecting two old streets to the north and south. The original construction date is unknown. In the 49th year of the Qianlong reign during the Qing Dynasty (1784 AD), the ancient bridge was washed away by floods. In the same year, patrol inspector Zheng Shimin and local residents led the reconstruction, resulting in the five-arch stone bridge seen today. The bridge is 69 meters long, 4.6 meters wide, and 6.3 meters high. Due to years of neglect in river maintenance and soil dumping from buildings constructed on both banks, one arch at each end of the five-arch stone bridge has been buried, leaving only three arches remaining. Additionally, the urban construction department installed granite railings on the bridge deck without consulting the cultural heritage management authorities, altering the original appearance of the ancient bridge. This bridge served as an important transportation hub between ancient Pingxiang and Shangli Town.

The area enjoys convenient transportation. The Nanchang–Changsha Highway runs east-west, while National Highway 319 and the Pingxiang–Lishui Expressway stretch north-south, forming a crisscrossing and safe network of urban and rural roads.
